Boy, its time already. Just less than 12 hours to take off from Minneapolis to Haiti.. Exciting to see deaf community.
I will be teaching Small Group Leadership workshop 4 times 2 hours each. I am gonna be nervous but I will be doing fine. Just trust God to guide me.. Their sign language is ASL(America Sign Language) same as us American, But their writing language is French. Deaf community 's writing skills are average 2nd grade level. Their parents didnt know what to do with deaf person so never put them in school most of their life.
So we will be teaching them many ways, We have several of our team that are specialize in interpreter and will be training CODA(children of deaf adult) or anyone want to learn to be interpreter for Haitian deaf.
That would be awesome for Haitian deaf community to catch up their communicate skills with others in Haiti.
Gotta go and start packing and getting things ready to go. I highly doubt I will be sleeping tonight. Just like the past 2 trips...
I will do my best post blogs every night as if our electricity at guest house are available.
