American Deaf Pastor Chris

Greeting from Cabaret, Haiti,

Wow, Our American Deaf Pastor Chris gave a really good sermon and about 35 deaf Haitian came (their normal average number of attended church is about 10 deaf Haitian).  Hearing Haitian came to hear Pastor Chris too and they repeated "Amen, Amen, Amen" over on almost every time he gave a good speech. Our team can hear them saying that and let us know later about it. Wow what a goose bump feeling..

After the service, each of workshop leader gave an explained on what workshop would be like for them if they are interesting to learn and attending either on Monday or Tuesday.  Seem many did signed up for it. But again, last minute to them can be anything.  Since they DO NOT have any ideas of what time it is. Its tough for Haitian.  We just have to be patience and HOPE they would show up.  Just let GOD take care of them guide them to the workshop..

We went up to top of the hill where new church would be. Its mostly built by deaf worker. Its nearly done.  Its beautiful view to the mountain  and see the deaf community homes down below. Took team pictures with few Haitian and sang "How Great is Our God" in ASL . Nice feeling....

Came back to guesthouse for lunch, and rest for a hour. Then we returned back to the deaf community in Leveque to socialize with Haitian and some of do some drawing arts, some of us teaching words from flash card (most of them never had education) for about 2 hours then we went up near the top of hill just below of the new church. There were dozens of stones making into one large cross. So we added more rocks on top of them..
I danced with little boy about 5 years old as he copied my every move and was so cute.  Checking out several Deaf Haitian 's arts, hand made necklaces, and clothes.
Came back to guesthouse and had fried chickens, and mashed potatoes with gravy.  Good meals.
Then we had team debriefed and I suggested to have "Word of the Day " and leader add "Top Moment of the day" so we all shared our words.  It was good moments to hear everyone of our moments. Because everyone of us have different perspective of what they see or acted with them.

Deaf Haitian pastor (in training )William had great time one on one with Pastor Chris and he learned a lot from Chris and you could see his eyes had so much glow. Wow, he really was so happy to have Chris here with him this week.  Great news is Chris set up webcam with Dom. Rep. deaf pastor and William to introduced each other and invited William to go D.R. in Jan for deaf pastor convention. William was so thrilled and Chris offered to come back and go with William to D.R.   Thats amazing what God has done for them.  Praise the Lord!!!

Time for bed. I'm exhausted from the sun...
Good night America!!!
